A Beautiful Send-Off: Cheers to Our Retirees!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the West Hills Country Club to celebrate our newest retirees! It was a wonderful night filled with laughs, memories, and well-deserved tributes.
To our retiring colleagues: Thank you for your incredible service. You’ve spent decades shaping young minds, supporting our community, and strengthening our union. While the hallways won't be the same without you, your legacy lives on in the thousands of student lives you’ve touched.
We wish you nothing but joy, relaxation, and adventure in this next chapter. Congratulations on a phenomenal career; you earned it!

What an incredible turnout for our 1st Annual Spring Solidarity Fling at Aspire Brewing! It was an afternoon filled with laughter, lively corn hole competition, and most importantly the spirit of togetherness.
Thanks to your generosity, we raised vital funds for Hospice of Orange & Rockland County, proving once again that when union members show up, our community wins.

Solidarity in Action: Fixing Tier 6!
Following our high-energy Pop-Up Social at Aspire, our dedicated members took that momentum straight to Albany! We are so proud of the educators who represented our district at the historic Fix Tier 6 Rally at the MVP Arena.
Standing alongside 15,000 union siblings from across New York, our voices were heard loud and clear as we demanded pension fairness and a dignified retirement for all public servants. It was an inspiring day of advocacy, community, and union pride.

The MTA hosted a Happy Hour at The Old Erie, giving teachers the opportunity to relax, connect with one another, and spend time together outside the classroom. During the event, important information about the Fix Tier Six rally was also shared with members.

In October the MTA hosted a Happy Hour to raise money for our scholarship fund, collecting $166 in donations! A big thank-you to everyone who participated—and to our raffle winner, who generously donated her prize back to support the cause.

The MTA recently hosted a Happy Hour to welcome our new teachers! This event gave them the chance to connect with fellow educators, meet union leadership, and build relationships in a relaxed and supportive setting. It was a wonderful way to kick off the year and show our newest members that they are not alone on this journey.

In August, the MTA welcomed more than 60 new teachers at our New Teacher Orientation. Attendees had the opportunity to meet union leadership, learn about member benefits, and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Old Erie, where they were greeted by Middletown Mayor Joe DeStefano. The MTA is excited to support our new teachers and wishes them an amazing first year!
